Fly Fishing Crash Course:

Learn everything you need to get out on the water in this 4 hour, hands-on, fly fishing crash course held at Luk Lake (behind Rolling Hills Casino).  From the purchase of your new fly rod to taking your first fish off the hook, our instructors will walk you through the basics of fly fishing, and show you how easy it is to do it on your own.  Whether you are new to the sport, or are tired of getting out-fished by your husband (or wife!), Eagle Creek’s Fly Fishing Crash Course is for you!

Students of the class will be able to:

*Properly rig a rod and reel, including attaching backing, fly line and leader.

*Tie on tippet material and flies.

*Rig a two fly setup.

*Properly load a fly rod

*Cast up to 30 feet of line

*Control excess line

*Mend the line on the water

*Properly present a fly and set the hook

*Properly fight a fish

*Net and release a fish

*We will also cover fishing strategies, fly selection and reading the water.
